Browser storage and current integration notes
Checked October 14, 2026. The generated inventory above can include earlier scans and technologies other than HTTP cookies. A listed name does not by itself show that every ordinary visitor receives it. Items marked “Purpose pending investigation” remain unverified; they have not been removed or assigned a guessed purpose. Some WordPress and Site Kit entries concern signed-in administration rather than anonymous reading.
Consent choices and current Google requests
TaleDale keeps functional consent-choice cookies: cmplz_* choices are configured for 365 days, and wp_consent_* choices for 30 days. We also observed WordPress’s wpEmojiSettingsSupports in sessionStorage, not as an HTTP cookie, to support emoji rendering for the browser session.
Google Analytics is blocked until statistics consent. When statistics alone was selected, Analytics requests and _ga / _ga_* cookies appeared, but advertising requests and DoubleClick storage did not. Google describes a default two-year Analytics cookie lifetime; browsers may shorten it. Our Chrome checks observed 400 days. Cookie lifetime is not the same as Google’s server-side data retention.
AdSense loading code is already installed. Accepting all categories released Google advertising and DoubleClick requests in our tests, even though this does not establish ad approval or ad delivery. We observed test_cookie on doubleclick.net for about 15 minutes and id for about 400 days in Chrome. These are advertising-related, not necessary to read the novels. Google describes id as remembering the preference not to receive personalized ads; its published lifetime varies by region and browser limits. See Google’s cookie explanation. The ordinary banner and Google Analytics Consent Mode are not, by themselves, verified TCF certification.
Optional reading progress in this browser
Reading progress is saved only after you explicitly enable it for a book. It uses localStorage, not a cookie: taledale.reading.v1.my-husband-says-i-died-three-years-ago and taledale.reading.v1.every-thursday-the-perfect-wives-lie. Each book has a separate record of your most recently opened chapter, furthest opened chapter and the last update time. Opening a chapter does not mean you have finished reading it.
The record stays in this browser on this device, does not require an account, and is not uploaded by the reading-progress feature. The website treats a record as expired after 180 days without an update and removes an expired record when it next checks it; localStorage does not expire automatically while the site is closed. You can clear a book’s record or stop saving with the controls in the chapter reading panel, or remove TaleDale site data in your browser. Rejecting statistics or marketing does not disable normal reading or this separately requested feature.
Changing or withdrawing consent
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to reach this page’s consent section, then use the manage-consent control to reopen the banner. Choose “Reject non-essential”, or change the categories and save your preferences. In our checks, later page loads stopped Analytics and advertising requests for the rejected categories. Earlier cookies can remain in the browser; remove them using your browser’s cookie/site-data controls if wanted. Withdrawal does not delete information already sent to third parties. Cookie choices and the separately enabled reading-progress controls are distinct.
