TaleDale respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you visit taledale.com, how that information may be used, and the choices available to you.
Website Operator
TaleDale is operated by Sheng Wenwei, an individual based in China, who is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
For privacy questions or requests, contact: contact@taledale.com
Information We Collect
Information you provide: If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address, name, and any information included in your message.
Information collected automatically: Our website and hosting provider may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This information may be recorded in server logs for security, troubleshooting, and site operation.
How We Use Information
We may use collected information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve TaleDale.
- Respond to questions, feedback, and copyright concerns.
- Protect the website against spam, fraud, abuse, and security threats.
- Understand general website usage and performance.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use TaleDale and to improve the website. With your consent, Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, interactions, referring sources, and browser and device characteristics. This information is processed by Google.
For visitors worldwide, we load Google Analytics only after you consent to statistics cookies. If you decline or have not yet made a choice, Google Analytics does not load. Declining statistics cookies does not prevent you from reading our stories.
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to open the consent section of our Cookie Policy, then use its manage-consent control to reopen your choices. Select “Reject non-essential” or save the categories you want. After withdrawal, subsequent page loads stop the Analytics and advertising tags for categories you declined. This does not automatically remove earlier browser cookies or delete data already sent to Google.

Cookies and Similar Technologies
TaleDale uses cookies to remember your consent choices and support necessary website functions. Google Analytics cookies are used only after you consent to statistics.
You can review and change your choices using “Cookie settings” in the website footer. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not necessarily remove cookies previously stored in your browser.
Optional reading progress in this browser
Reading progress is saved only after you explicitly enable it for a book. It uses localStorage, not a cookie: taledale.reading.v1.my-husband-says-i-died-three-years-ago and taledale.reading.v1.every-thursday-the-perfect-wives-lie. Each book has a separate record of your most recently opened chapter, furthest opened chapter and the last update time. Opening a chapter does not mean you have finished reading it.
The record stays in this browser on this device, does not require an account, and is not uploaded by the reading-progress feature. The website treats a record as expired after 180 days without an update and removes an expired record when it next checks it; localStorage does not expire automatically while the site is closed. You can clear a book’s record or stop saving with the controls in the chapter reading panel, or remove TaleDale site data in your browser. Rejecting statistics or marketing does not disable normal reading or this separately requested feature.
Advertising and Google AdSense
Google AdSense loading code is currently installed on TaleDale. In our public-browser checks, accepting all categories released this code and made requests to Google advertising and DoubleClick services; before a choice or after rejection, it stayed blocked. Installed code and these requests do not establish that Google has approved the site or that advertisements are being served.
When you allow the advertising category, Google advertising services may receive browser, device and page information and use cookies or similar technologies for advertising functions. Our checks observed test_cookie and id on doubleclick.net after accepting all categories. Depending on your location and consent choices, advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized.
You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
You can manage Google advertising preferences at:
https://adssettings.google.com
The current Cookie banner controls our non-essential scripts, but this alone is not a verified Google-certified TCF advertising CMP. Personalized Google publisher ads for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland have additional certified-CMP and TCF requirements. We do not claim that the current deployment satisfies those advertising requirements or all applicable privacy laws.
Sharing of Information
We may share limited information with service providers that help us host, secure, maintain, or analyze the website. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or users, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or security threats.
We do not publish or share the contents of private email messages except when necessary to respond to a request, operate the website, protect legal rights, or comply with law.
Data Retention and Security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Browser cookie lifetime is different from Google’s server-side data retention. Google Analytics normally gives _ga and _ga_* cookies a two-year lifetime, which browsers can shorten; our Chrome checks observed a 400-day limit. The property’s current server-side retention and reset-on-activity settings have not been independently verified, so this policy does not promise a specific server deletion period. See Google’s data-retention explanation.
International Visitors
TaleDale is available internationally. Information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, subject to the safeguards and requirements of applicable law.
Children’s Privacy
TaleDale is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so that we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction. To submit a privacy request, contact us using the email address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the website, services, or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
