A Thursday book club. A husband found dead. Accounts that don’t quite agree.
A TaleDale Original
Synopsis
When librarian Nora Ellis joins the Thursday book club on Elm Crescent, she expects novels, tea and a little neighbourly gossip. Then a member’s husband is found dead, and the accounts of that evening don’t quite agree.
As Nora follows the gaps between polite conversation and written records, everyday favours and family pressures take on a different weight. Friendships become harder to read, and telling the truth may mean questioning people she wanted to trust.

Reading Notes
A slow burn built around neighbourly relationships, family pressures and small inconsistencies. The opening briefly shows the aftermath of a death before returning to Nora’s invitation.
Content Note
This novel includes domestic abuse, coercive control, financial exploitation, grief, death and non-graphic violence.
